Buddhistisch : Diwali also called the festival of lights , is an ancient Hindu festival which signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.

Katholisch oder protestantisch : Since pre-historic times in Europe, festivities (bonfires, offrerings) were marking the beginning of longer hours of daylight with fires and ritual.
